AskFitnessCoach has been bringing good solid content to the table for nearly a year now.
We’ll be honest that at times, we felt like we were putting in a lot more bench minutes than we deserved. We’ve worked really hard just hoping for a chance to get called up to the big show but we consistently found ourselves taking batting practice with the double A ball clubs. We know we have a good thing going here but we just haven’t been able to grab the exposure necessary to make us a big player in the fitness and weight loss corner of the internet. Skyler was secretly hoping that one of the first string sites had a major system crash and that by some miracle we’d automatically take their place as an authority in the fitness and nutrition realm.
Chelsea and I on the other hand were more focused (ok, Skyler was too) on answering your questions and creating interesting, engaging material that you wanted to plaster all over your facebook pages and tweet into the stratosphere.
We started gaining some ground and getting a few more eyes on our site. Then we got a special set of eyes on our site. One of the scouts from the big leagues saw what we were capable and called us up for a tryout. It turns out we were pretty good. Not only did we make the team but we made the All Star team! We really brought some heat.
OK, I’ll stop talking in parallels now and just give it to you straight.
AskFitnessCoach now has a weekly column at U.S. News and World Report!
Yes, THAT U.S. News!
The 1.5 Million Magazine subscriber U.S. News.
The same U.S. News that has over 100,000 visitors to their website every day!
We’ll be running a weekly article on their fitness blog!
There’s should be an article about the awesomeness of breakfast up there now from Chelsea. Go check it out.
As for things around here, nothing much should change. We’re still going to pump out great content every single week the same way we have been over the last 10 months. You can count on my musings, Chelsea’s stellar writing skillz (that’s right, with a Z), and Skyler’s awesome knowledge about fitness and nutrition and his occasional rant about the Denver Broncos.
Remember, if you ever feel like we can do more to improve your minutes here with us, just ask.
