We have all done it splurged, stuffed ourselves, or completely lost control at a holiday party. You may have planned on doing it all along. Or you have just been following the crowd. I mean typically American’s put on 5-10 pounds during the holidays so pretty much everyone is doing it. If you continue splurging without a plan what is everyone else’s will become yours, holiday weight gain.
So why make any changes to the plan?
Well you might not have to. What if I told you instead that splurging, getting stuffed, and flat out overeating could be a part of the plan? Actually, it should be a part of the plan because we should be able to enjoy the holidays. But what you need to do is do it the right way because if you do you will be able to maintain your weight and possibly even be able to lose some unwanted body fat.
Wouldn’t it be fun this year to set your New Year’s goals already down 10 pounds. If that happened, maybe, this year that six pack could become a reality. Maybe, it won’t be so hard to get yourself in good enough shape to wear that swimsuit when the sun starts to actually warm the earth, again.
So, how can you do it?
The first step is to not give up on your normal diet and exercise. Remain calm eating healthy or even better than normal when you aren’t at the holiday party is going to make a big difference.
The second step is eating smaller meals, that include plenty of fiber, throughout the day of the actual party to decrease your total caloric intake for the day and hunger.
The third step is utilizing workouts on the day of the party and the day after the party to deplete the extra carbohydrates and to attack any additional fat stores. Density workouts and metabolic circuits are great for burning calories during your workout and for up to 48 hours after the workout.
